10 Insights from Sapiens Ignite: The Future of AI in Insurance

Last week in Nashville, we opened the doors to Sapiens Ignite, our first global customer event. A few days on, I’m still taking it all in. It was an extraordinary week, and I want to share what stood out, what it taught me, and where we go from here.

  1. The Sapiens Brain is here
At a time when AI hype is long on promises and short on results, we launched the Sapiens Brain, the insurance-native AI foundation behind our next generation of AI solutions. It draws on first-hand insurance memory: the products, the logic, the edge cases, and the trust built over 40+ years of creating and running insurance systems.
  2. SapiensAIP puts the Brain to work
Alongside the Brain, we launched SapiensAIP, our Autonomous Insurance Platform. It applies the Brain’s understanding with the accuracy, consistency, and governance insurers need to move from experimentation to real AI operations.
  3. Everything we showed was real
Everything on show is available today. Our CTO, Glen Ceniza, took nearly 2,000 people under the hood of the Sapiens Brain with several live demos, including AI agents speeding up claims processing while documenting an audit trail of every decision they make. We ran more live product demos than at any previous event and more than 2,500 people joined the opening keynote online. We held several workshops and breakout sessions focusing on our core products.
  4. The industry now has an AI benchmark
We unveiled the inaugural Sapiens Insurance AI Maturity Index, a study of 475 senior insurance professionals. It gives the industry something it has lacked: a real benchmark of where insurance is with AI and where it needs to go.
  5. The intention-to-action gap is the story
67% of senior insurance respondents expect AI in the industry to reach full autonomy within two to three years, and 87% call agentic AI important to their future. Yet only 16% have adopted it. That is the widest intention-to-action gap in the study, and it’s the gap we exist to close.
  6. The market wants AI that works, not another pilot
The figures echoed in countless conversations I had with executives. Everyone wants a pathway to something reliable and available today, not another pilot.
  7. Culture turns technology into action
Steven Bartlett challenged us to empower ideas, embrace failure, and create the conditions for innovation. Fellow keynote speaker Peter Hinssen reminded us that uncertainty is the new norm, and that AI first doesn’t mean people last. Technology creates the possibility, but culture turns it into action.
  8. Our ten commitments cut through the hype
On stage, our senior leadership made ten commitments to customers on delivery speed, product discipline, and accountable AI. We made them publicly on purpose. Like we have done for more than four decades, we wanted to give customers the right to hold us to account and give our people a framework to push back when a request takes us outside those commitments. Those who saw the keynote noticed a very different tone from the executive team, and it carried through the hallways. Several customers told us they are opening up budget in 2027 for AI, thanks to the technology and integrity we demonstrated.
  9. We’re moving faster and coming to you
Ignite is not a finish line, and for our customers it shouldn’t feel like one. The pace of change isn’t slowing down, so we’re working in shorter cycles to get value into your hands faster. I believe we can achieve in six months what would normally take twelve. Expect to see more of our senior leaders in front of customers, through regular visits and smaller regional summits, starting with South Africa and the Nordics. We’re also investing heavily in North America, where Maroun Mourad, CEO North America, will give you close, local support from people who know your market. We also announced Nazir Esmail as Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer and Maggie Fox as Chief Marketing Officer.
  10. Trust is the currency of our AI future
For insurers setting AI goals for the coming year, we promise a clear, trusted path from pilot to real results, with the governance and audit trail to back it up. Trust is paramount to us, and our ten commitments are yours to hold us to.

Ignite returns in May 2027 in Miami, and we want to hear what you’ve achieved with SapiensAIP. In the meantime, a big thank you to everyone at Sapiens who made Ignite happen, and to the customers and partners who made it such a success.
