Three Strategic Takeaways from the 2025 Sapiens Customer Summit

Table of Contents

Last week, more than 540 senior representatives from 130 leading organizations across insurance, insurtech, and financial services convened at the iconic Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix for the 2025 Sapiens Customer Summit. Their shared purpose? To explore the next frontier of digital transformation and discover how to rise beyond limits, both individually and collectively.

Over the course of three dynamic days, attendees engaged in content-rich sessions spanning every line of insurance. The agenda featured thought leadership from industry powerhouses including Microsoft, Deloitte, Celent, and Datos Insights, alongside immersive product showcases, collaborative workshops, and visionary keynotes. The energy was palpable, fueled not only by the insights exchanged but also by the spirit of possibility that permeated every conversation.

And when the sun set, the inspiration didn’t stop. From the vibrant street fair to the unforgettable evening at Corona Ranch—complete with rodeo flair and Southwestern hospitality—and the retro-chic Mad Men party that transported us to the sophistication of the 1960s, the Summit offered moments of connection, celebration, and pure fun. These experiences reminded us that innovation thrives not just in boardrooms and breakout sessions, but in the relationships we build and the memories we share.

Three Strategic Themes That Emerged

One of the enduring strengths of the Sapiens Summit is its ability to distill complex industry shifts into actionable insights. This year, three strategic themes stood out:

Integrated, Full-Stack Insurance Platforms Are No Longer Optional

In an era defined by continuous disruption, agility and integration are paramount. This was the central message of Ilan Buganim, Chief Information & Technology Officer at Sapiens, who outlined the evolution of our platform strategy—emphasizing SaaS scalability, AI-driven intelligence, and the expansion of our P&C capabilities through the AdvantageGo underwriting solution for North America.

To bring this vision to life, Jennifer Smith, Gil Trotino, Stephanie Lobeck, and Paul Juniper delivered a compelling live demo centered around a fictional “Chili Café.” Through a series of real-world scenarios—from agents issuing workers’ comp policies to underwriters crafting commercial property coverage and claims handlers accelerating resolution—the team illustrated how Sapiens’ technology empowers every stakeholder across the insurance value chain.

Innovation Is Flourishing Across Every Business Line

What truly distinguished this year’s Summit was the breadth and specificity of content tailored to our diverse customer ecosystem. Whether attendees specialized in property & casualty, life & annuities, workers’ compensation, reinsurance, financial compliance, medical professional liability, or decision intelligence, they found sessions designed to address their unique challenges and opportunities.

Breakout discussions offered deep dives into product roadmaps, collaborative user groups, and peer-led best practice exchanges. These forums not only fostered dialogue around current needs but also helped shape the trajectory of Sapiens’ future solutions—ensuring our technology remains aligned with the evolving demands of the industry.

The Future Belongs to Human-Tech Collaboration

Artificial intelligence was a central theme throughout the Summit, particularly in the Partner Keynote delivered by Anu Chawla, Director of ISV Partner Development at Microsoft. Anu emphasized that AI’s true potential lies in augmenting—not replacing—human expertise. “Humans set the goals, and AI can run the process,” she noted. “This collaboration can elevate, not eliminate, people.”

Keynote speaker Seth Mattison expanded on this idea with a powerful message about agency and mindset. Addressing the anxieties surrounding AI’s rise, he reminded us: “The future isn’t happening to us—it’s being created through us.” His insight that “skills make humans relevant, but positive mindsets make them indispensable” resonated deeply with attendees and underscored the Summit’s overarching spirit of empowered transformation.

Looking Ahead with Purpose

The energy and momentum of the 2025 Summit reaffirmed why Sapiens is more than a technology provider—we are a catalyst for innovation and a partner in progress. Our customers are not just adopters of our solutions; they are co-creators of the future of insurance.

To everyone who joined us in Phoenix: thank you for your insights, your engagement, and your vision. We look forward to continuing the conversation at the 2026 Sapiens Customer Summit in Nashville, where the rhythm of Music City will set the stage for even more transformative dialogue and collaboration.
